Where's that road?

Cars like the 306, 106 and Saxo are well known for the stiffer rear end causing lift off oversteer. That said, it'll only catch you out about twice before you learn not to push it that hard.

lift off over steer.... classic....

watch the vid

205 GTi

The rears are fine, you just have to know how to drive them. A corsa will do the same to a lesser extent.... almost any car will

More than likely what happened tbh, i wernt driving hard, or fast at all. I was on my way home from work. I wernt pushing the car at all, reason being when i do, i know how to take it. I didn't expect it to kick out so i was to late to counter it, and control it, thus ending the way it did. Too many nobber on this forum tbh.

Well, it's what I always assumed it was. The behaviour, whatever it is, is certainly a trait of those cars.

How can you assume something, without seeing, or even really knowing the circumstances. I find it unbeliveable tbh. I never asked ' What do you think happened '

Thanks for the positive comments . As far as the chasis being straight, i'll fine out tommorrow, had a mate look over it, he works at a accident repair centre, he seems happy enough, the slam panel needs replacing, but it's going up on the ramp for a better inspection tomorrow.

Just not a forgiving car. I always found these cars to be brilliant in the dry but very very skittish and unpredictable in damp conditions.

Sounds like classic lift off oversteer though!

Unucky sure you've learnt a valuable lesson.

I'm not even talking about your accident. Someone said something about 106s and Saxos having twitchy rear ends and I was following on from that. Infact, when I said 'I always assumed' I was referring to when my 306 first caught me out. I didn't mention your accident once, because, as you stated, I don't know the circumstances.

I'm assuming something because you clearly dont know what happened... what else can one do

I'm not having a go at you. It's not a personal attack.... so calm down

Its just a classic lift off oversteer accident.

corsa lift off oversteer's just as much my friend.

im quite good at initiating it and making the wee bugger drift.

and before someone has a go. ive owned a s12 and s13 so i know the difference between drifting front and rear drive cars.....

So you know the road really well and theres loads of people crash there but you still take the corner to fast.

Everybody suggests its oversteer and you say it isnt, then Steves says it is and suddenly it is!

Think you need to chill and stop calling everybody else Nobbers!

I took the corner too fast? CLeary, as i forgot you were there. Idiot, why is it whenever accidents happen, it's always down to speeding. I never said it wasn't oversteer at all, i said i was't driving fast to cause it, i said IF it was oversteer it was casued un knowingly, not driving like a cock, which is why i couldn't correct it. I need to calm down, bad day at work?

A mate spun his GTi one night randomly. He was totally suprised when it happened as it felt like it had more to go...

Mate also did the same in a Clio, and I watched a mate in another Clio do the same. All in wet/damp conditions.

Goes to show they can be a bit skittish in damp weather
