my mates dad had the supercharged version, slower than his sons CTR and did around 15mpg. was just a status symbol and was soon replaced by an evo 8.
if hes got kids he should get a people carrier which will leave him enough change for something like an evo

You'd buy the new Discovery or a Landcruiser if you really needed an offroader.

What?
I dont get it...
Why is there no point to it I'd love one
If there is no point to a Range Rover Sport, whats the point of an Evo, Impreza, Corsa with 2.0 etc etc... dont be daft.
Its big, fast, looks good..... can go offroad more than 70% of there other 'normal' cars.
Bahhhh

my dad loves em.
When i was 19 i was regularly insured on my dads Autobiography. I drove it all the time i fucking loved it. Such a refined car to drive, so comfy. Easy to park etc.
I dont like the sports tho, too small inside!

I doubt they would be very rewarding to drive. I doubt id ever use it off road. I doubt id ever need anything that big. If I were to buy one it would be purely because there chunky & look kinda cool. Id much rather have an RS4 avant tho

If you want one buy the Diesel. The SC version isn't quick (although swift for a 4x4 barge) so you may as well sacrifice what little speed it has and have some reasonable MPG. Also petrol RR's, Sport or normal ALWAYS tend to struggle when coming to sell, check 04 Vogues for example and see how much more dosh the TD is from the 4.4 etc..
