Get some proper legal advice rather than ask on here for a start. IMO sending a letter to the Police is asking for trouble, your never win even with a witness. Best bet is either to goto court or just see what a professional says about it all. Is a joke but the Police are clamping down on boy racers and this thing is becoming more and more common. They have even given driving asbo's around here to stop kids going into town in the evening.

my mate got assaulted a few years back, i was his witness, we went to court 10+ times over 2 years and it was adjourned each time. make no mistake our court system is a joke

Of course it is, I'm sure they'll find most people guilty if fixed penalty's are involved - Probably at the advice of our 'government' who needs the cash.

Police tried to fine richie £400 for having a headlight out, he took it to court, statements from the garage saying he had had it repaired etc
threw it out in the end iirc
send them a letter stating you parked in a public car park, therefore within your rights to leave it there, however their statement is wrong and the office watched you drive away

how can they take you to court for breaking a law, if you were not cautioned at the scene of the "crime" by said police officer.  If a crime was committed, he would have had to arrest you there and then in order to issue a court summons surely

yeah they got me ages ago
i pulled in to pick my mate up he got in the car and i went to go again, copper boxed me in and said i was a boy racer etc and i was causing hassle with my boy racer antics
told the copper to send them to my house and im still waiting
dont go down there that much now

What a joke.
Id sue the officer for wasting police rescources, tax payers money and your time and emotional stress.
High tide they started catching criminals and not making up imaginary laws cos they dont like people parking in PUBLIC car parks. Which by the way you are a member of.

well going to courts means paying the soliciter, time off work, transport to court which is 10+ away from my house, it will without a doubt be adjoured at least four times in which case i will have to pay this each time, i will plead guilty to parking in a car park, with a cover letter telling my disapointment at the law and officer.
