robbo, ppm refers to parts per million, so for a 1 ppm of nitrate reading, u have 1 part nitrate to 1 million parts water

As a rough guide, ud need a skimmer, ditch the filter and air pump. you would need a sump (smaller tank under yours), this would house a pump, a skimmer and other cleaning materials.
You would need your tank modyfied with a weir and then to be drilled so that water can be plumed to the sump, and then back to the display tank.
powerheads to make a flow in the tank
very small guide but gives u an idea

Yeah thats the one, i love it at night when he rests on the rock to sleep. I actually saw him puff up the other day too..
I also have a blue/yello damsel & a humbug damsel. Soon to get the domino damsel. It was awful when the puffer ate the shrimp, he pulled all his arms and legs off.

id love to get a marine set up, but cant afford it just now
iv got 2 tropical tanks though, one 240litre tank with 4 large angels (about 3 years old now) and a large silvershark(about same age) also in it are 4 cat fish and a few other random fish
my other tank is a 180 litre bow fronted tank with 4 angles, only months old, did have 2 silver sharks but woke up yesterday morning to find them on bottom, looks as if they just suddenly died and sunk to the bottom!! also has 1 catfish, not sure of kind, cant find another the same and 1 plec.
will have to get some pictures of the tanks

No too expensive. I got my tank for £130. Its not the biggest but still a decent size. Had everything it needs all heaters etc & special sand.
All i had to buy was salt, live rocks & fish (the fish arent that expensive)
