I had a 1.7CDTi off on the way to PVS The lad was not amused
Gave my shit about not booting my car as i'll run out of fuel. He was the one stopping on the way home for fuel I still had fuel for a couple of days after
I loved that little car

Just because i will be looking for a a new car next year because im getting sick of driving a slow 1.2 corsa b and i will be looking for a nippy vauxhall.i have been looking on the internet at the astra mk4 1.6 16v but not sure if they will be a bit thirsty becasue i only travel 3miles to work and 3 miles back and smaller journeys uses up more petrol so now iv also been looking on the net at the corsa c 1.4sri and the 1.4 twinports so if anyone can give me any advice and thoughts on what to get i would really appreciate it

:
Your right, on smaller stop start journeys you will use more fuel than a steady 60mph run, but you are only doing stupidly low milage so it doesnt make a difference!
Mate, if you do a 6mile round trip, you are talking about 5 quid in the astra
Re think mate. You could have a vectra V6 and still have change out of £10 a week
The diesel costs about £1.5k more on average than the 1.4 petrol. Dont bother with the milage you do!

I've got the 1.2 16v, was going to have the 1.4 but changed my mind last minute.........feels just about as nippy to drive as the 1.4 and noticably quicker than the old 8v's.
Still get 40mpg too

It is really up to you. Any 1.4, 1.6 wont break the bank with the short milage you do!
The 1.4 petrol sri is a smart car, i know a lad with a 05 reg one in black with 40% tint and it is very smart.
If your comming from a 8v B, you will find the 1.2 sxi punchy enough. I find it nippy for the size of it, when i have a go in my mates 05 reg comming from my 1.4 sport
Think about how many miles you do a week. Then figure how much mpg you will do (take 4 or 5 mpg on the recommended combined cycle to be safe), and how much the gallons will cost you in £££££. Then estimate how long you will have it. work out fuel over that time, and insurance and add the tax etc and see what figure you get. Do this with the 1.4 sri (for example) then do it with the diesel. Include buying price of course, and try and get one with same sort of milage and age.
Spend a little time and it will pay
