Lol some jealous people on here. I love driving my old mans elise, the driving position is spot on, feels really nice and they sound great too. Not all that quick mind.
Jealous of borrowing mothers car I cant boast to some strangers about......yeah exactly!
There is definately something mildly exciting about driving a lotus especially under the age of 20
There is but to go boasting at a petrol station saying dunno mate, wherever MY elise is is just fkn gay IMO

Feel the love in this thread.
Personally I've always appreciated borrowing cars if they're better than mine.
Only an Elise - it's all relative. I've used "only" a Range Rover Sport, common round here but its still a step up from my day-to-days. I'm also sure that if I had seen anyone I recognise, they would have been lied to quite profusely.

Absolutely and I agree entirely but to then go boasting to a petrol station clerk is just churlish IMO
Should just take it out and enjoy the opportunity
And I also disagree with nik's its only an Elise comment as well... they are all excellent drivers cars especially if your only used to a 1.2/1.4 Corsa etc.

I can understand why it is 'only an elise' to someone who is used to driving an evo everyday.

i cant, i havent driven an elise but my car is much more rewarding than the evos i've driven in my opinion.
(disclaimer: obviously apart from lisa's, that is the greatest car in the world ever. ever.)

Well I'm childish then.
I filled up the motorhome before PVS and the woman asked me about it so I didn't reply 'Its hired, I don't really own any of it'
What is wrong with posing? You are using it - that is nearly owning it!

Hes not likely to say "whatever number my mums elise is at" is he? People need to lay off on here and stop jumping down peoples throats all the time. It may be "only an elise" to the know-alls or the people with money, but at the end of the day they are smart, flashy cars and get attention.

I bought my M3 out right
I agree with Robbo, I wouldn't say my car over there instead of the pump number. If I heard someone in the que say that I'd think what an arsehole. Probably wouldn't even cross my mind it was their Mum's motor though!

Just a witty reply. Let rephrase that, how many can afford to buy a car out right of the same value of an Elise?

Fair enough, just dont think theres need for some of the stuff that gets said sometimes, I used to love borrowing my brothers Supra, to people on here for example, it may of been looked at as an old, possibly slow, £6000 car, to most people who seen me in it or asked me about it thought it was brilliant! And no I didnt used to say it was my brothers.
