not really a lot of differences ph2 just had the round headlights, could easily get a good phase 1 for £2000 then that leaves you over a grand change.. fast vts.. or standard gti...

You will pick up a very nice modded 106 gti for £3k easy
I would never have another VTS, there no as good as the GTI i've found. The handling isnt as good and the interior is simply put horrid

There NOT the same handling wise, the gti has stiffer anti roll bars as standard
My old gti would waste my old VTS on a good twisty bit of road and they both had full suspension kits. The gti had PI and the vts was on Spax

PI are one of the cheapest full suspension kits going would rather a VTS on spax much better setup, I owned a VTS phase 2 and drove a 106 GTi, and it was like driving the same car, so wasting a nearly identical car in the corners is crazy talk, unless the other car has the handbrake stuck on and 3 wheels

Because for the money not a lot can touch them if you want a fun, quick decent handling hatchback, or do you have a better alternative?

Having owned both cars at the same time for a considerable time I think I have a good idea what i'm on about, the spax on the vts was shit compared to my PI equipped GTI
