Supercar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
For other uses, see Supercar (disambiguation).

The SSC Ultimate Aero TT (2007) is currently the world's fastest production car in terms of top speed.Supercar is a term used for a high-end sports car, typically an exotic or rare one, whose performance is highly superior to that of its contemporaries. The proper application of the term is subjective and disputed, especially among enthusiasts. The use of the term is dependent on the era: a vehicle that is considered to be a supercar at one time may not retain its superiority in the future. The automotive press frequently calls new exotic cars "supercars".

A standard P1 isnt that impressive by means of top end so I wouldnt class as a super car. I dont think a car can achieve supercar status by pumping up the power because it could just get silly. You could have something like a ford fiesta running a YB engine being called a super car - nope not on my watch!!

but its was superior in its class and a rare model

may not be classed as one now if you go by what they say

but at the time pretty sure it was classed as one for noise regulations

Not quite a super car, but my dads Ferrari 308 costs a fair bit to run-

MOT Every year - £600 as it has to have the jets changed on the carbs and stuff to get it through

Servicing Every Year £900

Cambelt Change every 2 years- £2000

We could argue this all week, unfortunatelly ive got pressies to unwrap & stuff P1 will never be a super car in my eyes, if someone won the lottory & said 'yes im going to splash out & buy a super car' youd never see a P1 up their drive!! Now im an impreza fan & love the P1 its a nice bt of kit but never a super car no matter who says what on whichevr website!!

Now.......911 Turbo, how much to run one

Well Eck we'll be buying a place together next year thats deffo on the cards, ive got some cash tucked away on my flat & we've agreed that thats mine to do as I please. Im not getting any younger......if there was a time to buy a 'dream car' its deffo going to be before any sprogs come along etc

It would be nice wouldnt it Ah im just bored & dreaming of what could be

Basically im going to have some cash that could be spent, would be better saved/invested but im gonna be on offshore wages in a while so it doesnt really matter

I priced a maintenance budget on a Maserati Quattroporte the other week.
3yrs/84k miles (steep)

Total forecasted spend was £16k.

I would imagine porsche's would be relatively cheap compared to anything else of this nature. Few k a year imo. If something major breaks I'd like to have a good £5k put away.

Thats how I see it aswell, might look into part buying/part financing a 911 as I would be selling my Derv Golf & getting a new car anyway.

Going to need to look into running costsa bit better!

Would be good if that was true. Ive spent a few k on bits for the golf already & ive only had it 2 months At least with a porker you wouldnt be tempted to mess around with it changing various bits!
