I would of said someone like Lovejoy if he hadnt already been on 5th Gear, as would fit into the banter side of it and can present fairly well.

That guy ruined 5th gear imo!
You at least need someone who knows something about cars... Not some pansy 'diving' football fan.

I think I'm one of the last few that still watch 5th gear though I usually record it so I can fast forward through the crap. But Vbh, Tiff and Jason Plato still make that program worth watching imo, as they can all drive the cars how they should be driven. Just wish they'd stop trying to copy top gear.

Yeh but it's obvious he knew about them.
That knob lovejoy knew nothing, and obviously didn't want to learn anything ... he'd just laugh at facts or figures - and was practically a girl when it came to cars. Infact if you like him I'm going to assume your a gay boy and walk around with prada bag and shoes.

I expect they will get rid of the other two presenters and the Stig then, as having Daimo there would just show them up.

would create some revenue for the bbc anyway

Dam right...... Paid too hoon around in supercars. My dream job???? I'd want more motorsport involvment though.
VBH is to knowledgable for TG. Would show up Clarkson on knowledge, and driving skill, so he wouldn't accept that. Shes also a 5th gear'er.
Quitin Wilson, already worked there and got his P45....
Tiff, same as VHB, but better at driving.. Just as arrogent as clarkson, hence why they split ways anyway.
Plato could be a good one for TG i reckon. But he films 5th Gear around his racing schedule, and unsure if TG would allow that.
Me for the win, just to stick it to Cosmo for being a rodney and mentioning me in such way

I didnt suggest it tbh, the shit you come out with on here is bad enough, just imagine if you were infront of the cameras

I think its too scripted and I don't think they can pull it off tbh. It does well because most people don't care about quality acting as that isn't where the show came from.
I do come away from some shows feeling a bit lied to but there's also enough interesting stuff. For example this show just gone had that good feature on the older cars. I was actually interested in what May had to say about the gearbox in exactly the same way that I actually laughed when Clarkson mocked him. I don't think almost crashing them added anything to the review however.
I was watching some older ones and there's a big bloke they had a while ago, absolutely cringeworthy, unwatchable.
I think it works well because they are all down to earth blokes. My criticisms stem from the fact they are moving away from that, with Hammond probably furthest away but the other two not far behind especially during news articles.
I think they all have some wit, which is nice. But you can't manufacture this. So if you can't take car people and make them witty, perhaps take a comedian and make them a more prominent car person.
Steve Coogan being a case in point.

Edit, removed, your not worth my time...
Back on subject, what about one of the former "celebs round the track" people? I reckon they should get someone with some actual car experience, an ex racing driver or something. Get Jackie Stewert, he'd put them all in their place

I doubt they'd get any ex-racer, as would show up Clarkson who does most of the on-track driving with the decent cars. And would make The Stig a little pointless as he is the 'great driver' presenter.

Jimmy Carr is always meant to be down at the show - although not sure if he is too far along the comedy line!

In all seriousness they could do worse than getting an unknown imo, someone enthusiastic with a bit of journalistic (and not acting) flair
They could build persona from scratch with the viewers much like hammond and may

FTW
Shes a hottie!!!! And also into cars big time. Far hotter than VBH.
Good points about the racing drivers, all competitive, jokes come 2nd
Guess we've got that skill with 5th gear.
Or do we need a new programme? One that combines humour, and real life car assesments, along with technical knowledge? Cross between 5th and TG?
