Yeah, the 206 was in a really bad state last night apparently, but both drivers got out ok. Every panel was bent.

its wierd with 106gti's and vts's, they should lose to alot more car's than they do , i struggle in my rallye to pass one. and i have more torque and about 12 more bhp per ton

i own a 138 bhp and there is no doubting it feels as if it needs just that wee bit more they addressed that with the 180 though

but i love my car it has everything i want and need with decent performance

180 bhp seems dissapointing also, 40+ more BHP and is not even a second quicker 0-60?

it would seem that way, it says that the 106 gti is a second slower than the vts... I was under the impression they were the same engine!

and most vts' / gti's make more than 120 bhp standard

For example with just a exhuast + filter my car was running 141 bhp @ fly.

peugeot didnt lie with the figures, thats actually what the 106gti got, but they tested it with a passenger and a payload to make it appear slower than the vts = 1 IG lower

I think they did lie all round... claiming 8.4 0-60 but also 120 bhp standard... I don't think I've ever seen a 106 gti make 120 bhp standard.

Well ive driven both, and the 106 is quicker in a straight line but as standard only marginally, the 206 feels sluggish. The 106 would also out handle the 206.

but the quality of the 206 is far superior plus better looking imo

so i know what i'd have

plus the handling part wouldnt be that different

i had vtr and i would say the peugeot actually handles better with more power

The 106's are quick in all fairness.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8nPnPXa99p4

Not the best video, but it killed the corsa after 3rd gear on another occasion.

3rd & 4th gears in the 106 are the key imo, they just pull and pull, which is where corsa's lose out on imo.

From experience the 106 isn't great at getting traction in the wet, but may be due to having toyo proxies on, not sure.

If I had the 206gti i'd only get the 180. They're well built, good looking and have safety which the 106 doesnt.

thats the thing though whittie i was faced with this dilemma

the 138 i got was pristine and a absolute bargain

seen other 180's not so good and a lot dearer i decided the small difference in power wasnt worth the extra bucks
