Ive had the MG since July, which is 4 months.
According to my finance agreement, After 6 months of the term, the amount payable is £1198.

So I need £1200 to get rid of the finance and then the rest can be spent on a car. If i get 4 grand for it then that leaves me 2800 for the diesel, a wee bit more if i get pennies for xmas and if i can manage to save a bit

They never made a 1.3DTi, only CDTi, which are facelift Corsa C's, and still not in your price range.

tbh, don't get a car with older diesel engine, it probably won't be any more economical.

A late 1.5td Corsa B may be?

The 306 HDi is probably the best that you've mentioned.

Do you need to sell the MG for fuel economy, or the fact you can't afford the finance? I can't see the MG being that fuel inefficient?

The finance is only £68 a month which isnt a problem, it costs me £20 to get to aberdeen and back and im not prepared to spend £400 a month on fuel!!!

I do around 100 miles a day in the pug. Costs me around a tenner if i take it easy.

My 1.4 Corsa was around the same on fuel too.

Newer engines are beter on fuel. Can you not get another load at all?

96 306 turbo diesel 5 dr green 167k

bought for 500 with full years test, 4 months tax

heater matrix went, had it fixed in bargain basement for 120, rear bushes, 2 front drop links. pretty much it, sailed thru mot and now has 187k with no real intentions of changing tbh.

does me lovely for work, diesel so pretty gd on fuel, dont worry about putting miles on it, or getting in dirty etc and dents scores etc
