My Dad isnt speaking to me at the minute - over me not wanting to work at his place with him being my boss. I don't agree with 90% of what he says and couldn't live with him telling me what to do for 12 hrs a day. He always has to be right and will never admit to being in the wrong.
I don't need to justify myself to him, i'd rather learn from my own mistakes.

There's things I wish I'd said to my dad, but I'm glad there were no periods of time we weren't speaking to eachother, didn't realise how much he meant to me until he died
IMO, there's not a lot which is worth ignoring someone for, you'll regret it when they're gone, by which time it's too late.

My dad left when I was 8, we'd go and cool stuff every weekend until I was about 14/15 but then I got a job and didn't really speak to him that much for a few years. Didn't think he cared much TBH.
Earlier this I had to have an operation on my neck which the doctors thought might be cancer and he really was there for me, did everything I asked, sat with me before the operation, everything. He was brilliant and really reminded me that he did care.
I now do loads of stuff with him. Go to football, went to MPH yesterday and had a right laugh.
Whatever you do, don't make it something you'll regret later

My mum and Dad split up when I was about 15/16, then got back together 5years later So no longer married but together!
Always got on well with him from being young, always go the matches together and all that rubbish. He has ideas about how he'd like me to live my life and which path to go down but not too fussed about telling him to STFU as I dont want to
Is going through a tough time at the moment with a fair few health problems which need to be delt with in the New Year, so can kind of see where people are coming from when they say it helps you appreciate them, blah blah.

my dad left my mum when she was pregnant (cock) and i didnt have a father figure to grow up with apart from my grandad he was great always looked up to him he looked after me like my dad should of.
it was hard living with 3 woman at the time my mum and my sister hated my dad and my other sister liked him.
so i thought fuck it when i was about 11-12 i wrote him a letter to get back in touch finally got back in touch with him but sometimes it was a bad idea yea was great knoing my dad for the first time but he didnt feel like a dad to me.
all the arguing started where i lived with my mum he was calling my mum my mum was calling my dad anyway me and my sister wond up ill and i sadly ended up in hospital loosing my job and smashing my car up.
they then relised what they were doing and sat down and chatted like perants and everything sorted now. still argu like fuck but i just get on with it.
i would never treat a woman like my dad did.

i dont really get on with my dad tbh, still live at home with him but he leaves before im up and comes in late around 8.30 so i dont really see him, but when he is home he has a go for the smallest little thing and like if hes doing a job he cant do it on his own he always has to get me to help even if im busy doing something or usually before im about to go out or something
he can be alright though, like with my car, hes getting it all fixed for me, even if it has taken a month, supose it beats buying me another though

My dad left my mum for someone else when I was about 15
We didn't get on for a really long time, he lives abroad anyway so I don't really get much of a chance to see him, maybe 4 days a year.
On my graduation day he decided to give me and my sister and ultimatum, and said that he wouldnt be attending any more special events unless his gf was invited. We said fine, don't bother coming. He didnt bother getting in touch with us for months after that....
Eventually I think he realised he fucked up.
I've been getting on better with him recently. I think he likes the fact that I'm into cars because it gives us something in common to speak about. Before we had nothing in common, and I've always been closer to my mum
I still think he's a dick for what he did to my mum, she had devoted her whole life to him and became really ill after they split up, but I'm dealing with it now.

my father left home when i was about 3, i havent seen him since but i do keep in contact with his parents(my granparents) because they are completely different people to what he is and my mum didnt think it would be fair to take me out of their lives. Im probably better off without him because apparently he's abit of a loser and a liar, he doesnt even make the effort to call his parents either.

My parents have been together 25 years i think, i get on with both of them but i'm not a very open person with my emotions and i've never let them get close enough and i wish i could but for some reason i cant. Im moving back into their house in January after a year moving out, its going to be weird but i'll appreciate them more after living on my own.
It sounds bad but i dont say "i love you" etc to them much (if at all) i wish i did but i cant for some reason, its my issue and dont know why i dont, i just dont say it as i never have been used to it will seem weird if i started to, hard to explain really, not sure if other people have experienced this
Obviously i love them to bits, but i never tell them that, i know i should!
