nothing unlucky about it, its 50/50 everytime, just forget what went before.
Its the same with the numbers, odds on 36 coming out 1000 times in a row is the same as 1-36 coming out in random patterns.

EXACTLY the same.
In my little computer simulation I wrote (I was sad enough to do it, to stop me losing my money), you given enough time could get easily enough to hit the £1024 needed... but then often much more...
The problem is also, if you do it for £1 - you'll only be gaining £1 a time... so if it goes sour, you may have to risk THOUSANDS of pounds, to make 1 quid profit.
In your case to make £5 but the amount you'll have to wager is FAR higher.

I know first hand! I was doing it daily on a online casino and skimming £25 a day, by doing £1 each time. Then one day I had a run, long enough to run me out of money (or the amount I could be bothered to lose, to win a £1 back).
Trust me, you'll not win shit doing this in the long run.
