i stayed in a run down hostel, down some back ally, near burger king, 4 stops down by tram from the red light district, it was simply a giant dope fume tank 
dont stay there
nice place durin the day really  with the museums n that .lots of bikes there

Natalie and I went last year for the England Holland friendly, was awesome!
We stayed on the Botel, its a bit fo a walk into the centre but its cool
The Grasshopper is good, as is the bulldog but thats in the north on a number 5 tram
Theres a little coffee shop just inside the red light district that we rreally liked, walk out of the grasshopper into the red light and its on your right at the cotrner, called baba or summat, really nice it is!

Anne Frank hosue is good but DO NOT DO IT WHILST STONED!! We did and we struggled not to giggle all the time and its very disrespectful and wrong mmmk

shit yeh when we were there someone was hit by a tram when we were walking back to the hostal in the eve.
police, amublance the lot. looked real bad 
tbh if i was there any longer than i was, would of only been a matter of time befor i would become a victim to them.

Been there every year for the last 6 years.
Theres lots to do and lots to see.
Stayed in flash hotels, and stayed in hostels. We now use these every year as they are perfect for what you need.

And remember, its not the UK, its your responsibility to get out the way of cycle lanes, trams, and cars etc.
I've never had any trouble there at all. Sex shows are worth doing for comedy value, but they are all crap really. You will get pestered by the ushers trying to get you into the shows. Just plain ignore them. Same for the "ezzzzz, coke sir" guys, just ignore them, they will leave you alone.
Theres a superb fruit shop down by the cinema (pictured in link above), sells any fruit, cream, ahhhh mouths watering thinking about it. Nearly a daily stop when your down that way.
