I think you're probably right.

But all the same, it was disappointing. V6 in a Clio, should, in theory, go like stink and make some noise. This didn't 'blow' me away like I thought it would. I saw it lining up, got up to watch, and was sitting back down before it got half way.

So what if I drive a 12v.

My dad drives an E46 M3 and never fails to disappoint.

All I'm saying, is the performance and overall presence of the V6 Clio at Santa Pod was disappointing.

Aye - don't get me wrong. I'd love one, compared to my car. But it didn't seem as good, AS THE IMAGE I HAD OF IT.

172 and 182 are the quicker cars point to point but the v6 is more of cult car that offers a bit of theatre and demands some kind of driving skill.

The phase 2s are no where near as twitchy as the phase 1 and IMO are amazing cars, they have the perfect formula that makes it a cool iconic car. A lot of phase 1 owners set up the car to run phase 2 geometry which makes the car much more dirveable and not as unforgiving as they are renowned for.

They may not set the road alight but they are quick in their own rights and since owning my 182 I would seriously consider a v6 for their exclusivity and the fact they are highly rated cars.

The v6 soundtrack is superb too!

Also they are highly rated by Evo and in Tiff Nedels top 10 drivers car he would own which imo makes it a superb car in its own right

Exactly, which this car and this driver didn't deliver.

May be a different car and different driver and I wouldn't have been disappointed.

Trust me when you see and hear one on the road they certainly get more looks than most stuff.

When I was working up London one of my clients who had an db9 said his old V6 toy got more attention than his 355 spider when he drove around London!

As for theatre I meant from the drivers seat....the noise and the concentration you have to have when driving one!

1) Of course my 12v doesn't sound nicer. You couldn't really hear this Clio though. It may have been a replica.

2) I stood up to beging with, because like people have mentioned, it gets attention because of the cult following and what it is.

3) Due to this cult following, I have had big expectations of the car. These expectations, of this car and this driver weren't fulfilled.

4) I don't doubt that they aren't fantastic cars, but having never really experienced one, nor seeing one, this was a bid off.

I think it as Fonz that thought it would be better than it was.
