The coupe I was looking at on ebay looks like it's sold. Someones left a deposit on it & he's taken my number just incase they decide not to go back for it

Was quite a good one too

Everyone keep their eyes peeled for them

avoid the 2.2 Matt

1.8 SE2 and if your willing to traval and be patient waiting for one.

Also at higher miles timing chain gets rattly and need reajusting which costs ££££££

Not many about

Really hoping the sale falls through on the ebay one

I've not heard many bad things about the 2.2 untill I asked on here. On AOC they said they were both good but the 2.2 had more torque & was a better drive

Jr had the 2.2 as did Joe off here and I personally think the Z18XE and the Z20LET drive better (have driven all three)

2.2 is torquey yes but very very thirsty hence why Joe sold his for a loss and why the the 1.8's sell for the same money.

1.8 better on fuel, cheaper servicing and easier to look after as has convential cambelt etc

Only thing that worries me is the electric hood going. Would cost a fortune to replace! I know it's quite rare that these break but it's something I have to consider

Would be a nice thing to have for the summer! (Both days of it )

Actually he hasn't

The SE2's all had the blue/black interior, not a cream/black

It is a good choice though

I personally prefered my 2.2 to my mums 1.8. Perhaps it used a little more fuel around town but the power delivery is so much nicer plus it was geared a bit longer so you get comparable economy at speed.

I tested the 2.2 and 1.8 before buying mine, and decided that the slightly better performance wasn't worth the extra insurance, fuel etc. I've got a 1.8 SE2 with full black leather and full Irmscher kit inside and out, and I'm very happy with it. I also found that the 2.2's are difficult to get hold of with leather/other extra's and without moon miles.

No keen on the convertable either.

edit - what about this? Coupe

Thats the one I was originally looking at, nice looking car, looks loved but mileage is quite high. Then again I don't do many myself

He says it's £3900 as it is or £3995 with the bumper repaired

A lower mileage 1.8 is the more sensible option but I could be waiting around for a while for one of those!
