If that was the case then they have had atleast 3 or 4 chances that I can think of to really punish him and put him out of the race for the win.

They've also had 3 or 4 chances to cause a pr car crash, pardon the pun.

You must admit there will be people within positions of power uneasy at the thought of a coloured rookie winning on his 1st season? let's not beat about the bush here.

Yes and no. The guy isnt any old Rookie - he has been with McLaren for nearly 10yrs so has always been around their cars.

F1 as a sport was in decline, TV figures were dropping, as were gates at some of the venues, and with Schumi leaving the sport they needed someone who could come in and be a big star - and that could only be a Rookie as everyone else in the sport already just wasnt doing it.

So I'd say they are all a damn site happier Hamilton is right up there with a great chance - as he wouldnt have this following if he was just another racer (Davidson).

Lets not talk shit either

I don't believe race has anything to do with it, it's more a case of drivers getting pissed off at the "new kid" who's showing them up

It is all rather amazing and quite a shock.

It all smacks of sabotage.

I think all the other cars are running with one flat tire and minus one plug lead.

Yep. If Lewis is 3rd, Fernando needs to be 1st.

There will be controversy at 1 point Hamilton or Alonso will try a desperation move or something.
