Failed to boot so tried a repair, didnt repair it, installed windows into C:\windows2 and it failed to boot after the intial setup on the CD. Started getting errors about the APCI and shit so tried to disable that and reenabled, tried to install windows with the APCI driver too but that failed. Started swapping spare RAM modules about and got it to work.
Once I got onto Windows I copied all my porn/stuff from hdd1 to hdd2, and because I had two windows folders and other shit on there I decided to start from scratch and clean it all off. So now everything nippy and fresh and requires reinstalling

a Live CD to do what? I only use live linux CD's if the hard drive is corrupt and I just want to rip off my files (mount the NTFS partition then FTP elsewhere on the network)

by repair do you mean you ran chkdsk? thats got me out of afew scrapes recently, tend to be more on laptops though.

Live CD to copy stuff from one HDD to the other, but then if you had ACPI problems, Linux probs wouldnt have booted.
Im going to have a play with VPN today

i just spent £200 on upgrades:
went from a C2duo E6600 to a Q6600
and upgraded my mobo from a AW9D-Max to a IN9-max
sold my old chip and board on nice little upgrade for not much money

Well my first intention was to get Windows working as I knew the hard drive was OK, its when the hdd is fucking up I'll whip out Damn Small Linux CD
