I wanted to do this and was on the register, getting all the form updates etc. but I lost lots of weight due to IBS and couldn't eat properly, so I thought it best not to go as much blood sugar level would be low.

Really should think about signing up again, as I don't get the info anymore.

Good luck Marc

As long as you aren't under a specific weight you should go along.

They do an iron test before they take the blood from you to makesure your blood sugar levels, amount of cells in the blood are good enough.

Do they drain all your blood out of you when you die if you have one?

They phoned me up and told me the dates/times that i am able to give blood. Being this Sunday, planning on going.

So rises this question -

If i go out Saturday night and am still 'feeling the effects' from the night before on the Sunday morning, will i still be ok to give blood?

Thanks.

Yeah, perfectly fine. Just make sure you have something to eat before you give blood (their words not mine).

I went to give blood here last week but one of the questions on the form is "did you spend any period of time in the UK between 1980 and 1996", something to do with mad cow disease. Turns out my blood isnt good enough for them hahah
