i never said anythin bout abusin it or not keepin it mint i just said wjhy spend all that money to have it sittin in a garage all the time.

i wasn't havin a go just dont like porsche's i see them everyday and those 2 pics how can you say they not similar just slightly more refined, lights still basically the same etc and the body shape, not exactly much thought put into changin the look, fair enough the performance is where its at, but looks like a squashed vw beetle imo

an i never

ok, point taken.... you never said wreck it.

But... you see a 26yr old 911 every day? or you see a boxster, cayman, cayenne, 924, 928, 944, 964, 993, 996, 997, 912, 914 yadda yadda.

I see about 50 BMW's a day.... I dont see old ones daily though.... I see run of the mill taxi spec 3 series daily.

They have kept the 911 'feel' in the design because it very obviously works. You can see this in many succesful car models. Its the same model, to me it should look like its predessors

to me there is nothing special about a boxster either... but its far from shit.

I wouldnt buy one, buy i wouldnt say no to owning one. The early 2.5 boxsters are getting very affordable now.

more common than what? Common compared to what? What do you class as common?

Round where i live caymens are quite popular, as are boxsters and cayennes. There are maybe about 4 911 (996/997) in the 3 surrounding streets.

now.... how many corsas/fiestas/mondeo's are there... hmm

Ak shows us his sleeping bag for his 911, which is a damn good idea, one that i would follow if i had a similar car and it turns into a 911 abuse thread, god bless CS.

Think the reason why people think these kinds cars are common is because you remember them as they are interesting. You don't remember seeing some shitty 318, Mondeo, Corsa, Fiesta, Astra, E class.............. as they are boring. That your people are just making the usual stupid comments that should be kept to themselves.

it was more of a last minute call..

Was supposed to be other cars... but they had problems etc...

Think its done 3 trackdays now..

1st - Fee holed the 205 radiator, and snapped the clutch cable - leaving me no option but to wheel out the 911 for some fun

other times has been due to the skyline either being not ready, or engine rebuilt but not run-in.

Only nearly splattered it once... Lost the back end flat out in 3rd through a sweeping left hander. Spun about 540deg and slid backwards.... coming to a halt about 10cm from the tyres :O
