I had an XE put in my Nova @ 18yrs old.
Ok, its not a LET - but it was brutal nonetheless, especially when your mates were in 1.0 metros.

I got my first LET @ 20, and insured on my 21st birthday. My insurer wouldnt touch me until then. That was on my mk4 astra LET, then after that I got a Corsa Turbo. Both sub £1000 fully comp.

depends how deep your pockets are for insurance

or, do like everyone else and get one with one on a 1.2 log book i mean, it will only matter WHEN you crash

i do believe that i respect the power of cars, i only drive fast when i believe it is safe and never take on sharp corners on the road, already been in a mates car that has flipped, i know a c20let is a lot of power and i will have to think a lot before i get one!!

Uve done alot in a year mate, take it your not insured then lol. I was looking through piston heads at the xe corsa's and probabbly 1 in 5 cars were insured as xe's! What would actually happen if you crashed and hurt someone?

still think ime unbeatable @ 23 £430 tpft. all delclared for 300hp. c20xe would be a more logical step and if you can by a drivable car ie astra gte etc and insure that as a standed motor then switch it to the corsa insurance after 6months or so and it usaually will be a similar price. can easily swap for a let if its still out of the breakers but you'l prob be in a back of a bus somewhere as most 18yo think they can drive but actually dont no what there car is capable of and have never taken it over that edge and got away with it. if you've got half a brain you;l turbo the xe and save some cash in the process as parts are now all over the place doing the rounds on ebay etc

i havnt done a quote on my nova turbo but know its just going to be stupid, i aint paying £1000+ for a car which is going to be lucky to do 1000 miles a year if i did run it on the road, i pay £750 a year for my astra vxr which is quite reasonable considering its worth alot more
