Sunlight contains a mix of UVA and UVB radiation and some of this is filtered out by the ozone layer. Sunbeds produce mainly UVA radiation, which penetrates deeper into your skin. They produce less UVB radiation than the sun.

As with everything moderation is the key, PUVA is actually used for skin conditions within the nhs. Obviously it's not good for you but i find it clears my skin once every couple of months or so
