oh and i believe it is easier to remove the fuel tank form underneath

alloy sheet is quite cheap is it not? wish mark would stop giving my ideas! though im pretty much decided on my spec now, just have to stop being lazy and get it built!

I thought it was cheap too, but I think he'll be a pikey and use steel

It's not really being done for the lightness, but I think he should make it lighter while he can.

ant, it needs to be welded in there to ive the car some strength back. so alloy is out the question.

why?

Are you bracing it to keep the shell rigid?

Fitting a new fuel cell/bag rather than tank?

I cant seel why you are doing it to be honest doesnt seem to be for weight (its a pretty integral part of the car to remove )

so why ?

You could have done a bit of a neater job with a plasma cutter though couldn't you?

Also, nice boots and overalls Wouldn't like to get 6000 degree molten metal on my feet!

adam, im doing it to fit a fuel cell in the back, not done to save weight at all.

it will all be braced when finished.

ed, thats the rought cut to see how much more i can get out....

i have my steel toe cap boots on what more do you want!

I'm not really that impressed with plasma cutters. Used to use them when I was a fabricator.
