Scott, you are getting the tattoo and you will have to live with it for the rest of your life. If its what you want/like then get it, it also symbolises something so its not a pointless one and isn't a 'fashion' tattoo, so it won't matter if chinese writing isn't in fashion in 5 years time. Well imo.

when my sister awoke from her coma the first sentence she muttered was about living each day to the full.
so i had carpe diem on my inner right arm as a reminder of her words.

that was half hour after it was done, so swollen like a bitch, i have also got a symbol for regret on my neck which reminds me of summat stupid i have done.
every time someone sees my carpe diem they always ask what it means and the story behind it and everyonse respects why i have it, as its not just some random thing i had. and everytime i see it i do think of the day she awoke in intensive care.

Thats why I like the Chinese/Japanese words. People dont know what they mean so they ask and you can explain. If you saw it in english people wouldn't understand it fully and might think you just got it done randomly etc. Plus Chinese/Japanese looks better as it works as a symbol, I wanted one going down my spine a little but now i've decided i want it across like yours is but want the lines thicker and a bit lower down.

Why Chinese though? Why not design something yourself as China probably has no relevance what so ever to the meaning of the tattoo.
Not looking to start an argument here.. Just trying to say. It's the same if you had it written in German or Spanish, people still wouldn't understand and you'd have to explain.

Who cares if a tattoo goes out of fashion? Surely it's up to the person getting it what they have and in what language they want?
I certainly wouldn't seek the approval of a message board, if it's what I wanted it's what I would get
PS yes I do I have tattoo's in Chinese
At the end of the day I got my tattoo's for me, not for anyone else and not because it is/ or was cool to have chinese symbols etc

Thats exactly what i'm talking about .... just because you don't like it in chinese doesn't mean he will change his mind and get it in english.
If everyone on here said they didn't like your tattoo if you posted up a pic before you went and got it done, would you still have got it done or listened to people on here?
No offence by the way

No I wouldnt but at the end of the day hes asking for peoples opinions.
I dont care about peoples opinions on mine so I never ask. I love it, it means alot to me so thats all that really matters.
You ask for opinions you get them.
English would make so much more sense.
