Most Pensions and Financial advisors I have spoken with always stress the importance of starting to plan for retirment early, suppose it depends when you what to retire, personally I would like to be comfortable financially by the age of 50/55 at least then you get to live out your laster years stress free

There are tax incentives for buying property into your pension fund though which you do not get as an individual, so to say they are bollocks is stupid

Pension plans are a lod of bollocks. They only give you back something stupid like £100 a week after you have paid a shit load of cash into them. I'm going to invest money in prroperty and keep cash in a savings account so I can look after my own funds.

They are bollocks. You don't get anywhere near what you pay in.
Buy a house, rent it out. Make £100 per month at least. Then when the equity has gone through the roof sell it and there you go. Easy money.

A decent standard of living is not £300 a week though.

Or buy it in to your SAS pay no income tax on your rent recovery and no captial gains tax on the equity, even more easier money if you know what you're doing

That's what you're likely to get from some silly pension scheme though.

Thanks I'd appreciate that, I've got two properties at the moment and would like to get more as part of a pension portfolio.
