same way power steering does when turning a corner...

it uses a pump driven by the engine...

the pump is only driven when the aircon is in use

ive got 2 xe's on air con and a 525 bmwon it also and i wouldnt be without it
ok so the polar bears get a little warmer but who cares im a little cooler and i dont give a shite about global warming ive only got another 40 years tops here anyway and if the summers are warmer in that time at least i can sit in me cars and be cool
