Temp traffic lights where there digging up the road just round the corner from my mum & dads.
Had just picked the old man up from the pub and just as we were approaching the lights they turned to red and we both know how long they take to change back to green. So seeing that nothing was coming the old man told me to go, so I did
The fcukers were in an undercover car (silver corsa ) and had been parked up in the car park of a local hotel, Told me they were acting on a complaint about people jumping the lights and that I hadn't been the first nor would I be the last to be caught there tonight
you CANNOT get in trouble for skipping temp lights as they do not form part of the highway.
seriously contest it and you'll win.
Are you 100% about that??
Any info about it??
its based on when i got pulled for a similar incident-i was pulled by an unmarked volvo, he was coming the other way, i was waiting for ages for em change so i went for it, volvo came around the corner just as i set off, i didnt think anythin of it until he waved hands at me, then i noticed his attire!! he gets out and told me the only reason i would get away with it was because they are not a fixed part of the highway-i havent done it since though tbf!!

I went to court over this exact thing a few years ago, temp lights on the corner of my street,i waited a few minutes they stayed red i went through a t5 just happened to pop out of no where at three in the morning
Went to court, said "i waited at the traffic lights after five minutes of waiting,i came to the conclusion that the traffic light was faulty,as most temp lights ive come across are vandalised or faulty thesse days,so i waited till it was a safe and no other cars where coming in the other direction, making sure i proceeded slowly incase of oncoming traffic, having manovoured safely, i then i got pulled by the police" they tried giving me a fine and 3 points = cunts nothing better to do at the time in the morning
ah well i got off with it
Im guessing MrPosh is either Topshot or Cuprasteve

take the piss traffic light cameras.
we have some on a 40 road near me which is pretty busy. i had heard all these stories of ppl who had been caught by them so everytime i am coming up to them im shitting it lol.
one night i was driving down and they changed and i just threw my brakes on as i was abit unsure if i would make it and this car behind me nearly went into me!

i think you are meant to obey them otherwise it would be dangerous but you might get off if you contest it.
worse case if you lose in court youl get 3 points still and just a slightly larger fine.
iv skipped temp lights before

if it gets that far i was just saying it wont be a great deal worse than the situation your in now
unless they are badgers and really want to make an example
best bet imo is to play the you thought they were broken line and only moved off after making sure it was doubly safe to do so

I was sat at a set of temp traffic lights last night for about 5 mins. Didn't wanna go through cos I've already got 1 TS10. So waited for everyone behind me to get impatient and go, then I got in the middle.
Hate it when traffic lights play up.

i had a ts10 lol going down a one way street the wrong way
some tossers had turned the one way sign round and i didnt know the area, plus it was dark and quiet as it was 2am
i went down and realised pretty much as soon as i had gone down there, i pulled over about 50 yards from the entrance to turn round when a police car came flying round the corner, gave me 3 points, didnt wanna argue though as i had 4 bald tyres lol

Rule 88 is a good clarification
the highway code is just a guide, it's not legally binding
although it does say if you follow everything in there then it's legal driving.

yes i know, hence why i said it's 'a guide'
i don't think you can quote the highway code in court saying you must obey all traffic lights/signals as they could be broken/turned around.

Thats a bit shite Colin.
The traffic lights shouldn't be working like that. They SHOULD be on dectectors and not on fixed time. It's illegal for them to be on fixed time when there is no one working on the site.
I'll try and find some more info for you though
