buy some smoke detectors and place them at top and bottom of steps. Also Colin should get to know a cheap body shop for the constant repairs that will be needed

What are witnesses expected to wear to court?? I cba dressing smart, is jeans, trainers & a T-shirt acceptable?

I was in this exact same position last year mate. Was dreading going to court. When we got their he was in the waiting room, my missus was really worried because he's a fuckin nutcase(carried on laying into coppers even after they'd sprayed cs spray on him), but after waiting an hour to go in, an usher came through and said we could go home as he had changed his plea to guilty as he hadn't expected the witnesses to arrive.

Good luck with it.

Its wrong that a witness should be scared. I'd be shitting it too, but it really shouldnt be like that.

Hmm.... we were kinda hoping he would change his plea, but as the day goes on and I've not heard anything I'm getting a bit stressed to say the least. There's an injuction out for him to keep away from Colin but he's already approached us when we were up the town shopping

I had to go to court as a witness when my fella was attacked by 2 men. I think they thought that no one would turn up but in the end there was about 4 witnesses and they decided to plead guilty so we didnt actually have to give evidence in the end. However we were there most of the day so maybe Colin is still there even if he has pleaded guitly

I imagined that if the accused changed their plea to guilty, that the witnesses would be told right away and let home right way, well at least there's hope yet

I'm stressing myself to the max

Yeah we there for quite a while, the screen kept saying that the hearing time had changed to a later time etc. We were then told that they were discussing something with their lawyers etc and then in the end we were told they had changed their plea. We then went home and were told all we had to do was ring up on the day of sentancing to be told what they had got. All they got was fines, compensation to pay to my fella and tagged for 4 months, the other got the same but didnt get tagged he just had to see a probation officer for 6 months or something. Oh and they both got about 100 hours community service! We were told they would get sent down because of their previous offences but their lawyer must of told them this and thats why they changed their pleas.

Thats the worse thing when it drags, i was so nervous, i have been to court as a witness before but that was at the magistartes so not too bad and my mum was able to come in with me as i was under 17 at the time. Our case took 8 months from when it happened to when there were sentenced. When did yours happen?

I got assaulted last year, by my ex gfs ex bf whilst we were asleep upstairs, he broke in and tried beating me up whilst i was asleep. anyway cut a long story short, he got arrested that night and pleaded guilty, then not guilty, then guilty lol finally got charged this year and only had to pay me back £350 and 80hrs community service... anyway my point of this post is...

I got a call from the "UK Crown prosecution servcie" and they were doing a survey on what i thought about the legal system and how its dealt with. I went on and on at how shit it is to the poor guy, he knew nothing of my case (as its anonymous) but i let loose haha. Had to explain how i wasn't even notified he had to pay me money etc, i had to ring them 3months later to find out.. i c ould of had it back by then. Not only that i get it in £50 monthly installments! :@

This is what happened with my fella, they never even told us what they had been sentenced to etc, we had to phone up. They also said they had to pay £400 each or something but never told my bloke that the money was for him. He finally found out weeks later when then rang for his details, its an utter joke really is!
