TBH if I was a fireman and I was just going to get blamed everytime someone didnt survive I'd not bother trying to save anyone...not worth putting your own life in danger for the hassle!

wasnt there underwater divers there aswell?
fact is, in 21st century britian had the amputed and saved his life he could well of turned around and sued them!
firemen are trained for water but its only basic, and most of there equipment probably wouldnt work underwater

See, when I said about this originally I questioned the 4 hour time it took to save him and I got a flaming.
Does see like a complete shambles by the rescue services.

Foot off/drain lid off, although I guess they considered both of those options.

How do you cut somones foot off while they are up thier neck in water, surrounded by flood water thats probably full of sewage and other crap.

I'd of tied a rope around him middle, tied the other end to the fire engine and drove away fast. If he came free then alls good, if he doed then he was gonna anyway!

its becasue the fire fighters didnt strip off and warm him with their body heat whilst also giving their lives for him.

Using the fucking great pneumatic cutters on the fire engine?
or a hacksaw
or a rope around it and drive off in the fire engine.

Apparently they did try to cut him free, but as soon as they did this he slipped further down, with his head underwater, so they put breathing mask on and decided to amputate, but he was in the water far too long

I'd give it a go, those cutters would do the job without being that accurate
I would assume the fire service did try these options though anyway.

I said this was weird first time around.
And I still dont get it. I specify all sorts of drainage grilles and all of them can either be pulled out or simply undone.
According to the Sky report he died of hypothermia????
After four hours of attendance that pretty shit tbh

in my opinion-in the space of 4 hours why was underwater breathing apparatus ready in case he did go under??
but if he died of hyperthermia then who knows. either way its tragic yes, but at the same time it was a freak accident also.
