Axa seem to be decent for me the last couple of years. They use various brokers such as motorcycle direct however strangely they were more expensive quoting direct? As above just shop around and play the quotes of each other. You'll soon get a ball park figure.

My dad and I are looking at getting and sharing a 125 sometime soon. Basically my old man works about 25miles away, so thats a 50mile round trip 5/6 days a week. That coupled with my car returning about 30mpg, the aim is to save us both money. Go halves on everything and share the bike. He works nights so it's ideal really.
Looked at Aprilla RS125 and Honda CBR125. Something like that design anyway.

Nath- you want a 2stroke as they seemto be faster , so out of them two bikes you'll be looking at the Aprillia RS125, try and getr a newish one as ones that have been threashed tend to blow up happend to my mate, he has never ridden a motorbike since. I had a Derbi Senda 125SM, which was 4stroke, and that kept up with the CBR

No, you don't want a 2 stoke.
Yeah, they are faster than the 4 stoke 125's, but they use as much oil as they do fuel. They have about a 2000-3000rpm power band, sound like hairdryers. But they handle great.
Nath, you and your dad want a nice reliable 4 stoke 125. Not the fastest, but will go on and on and on for cheap. 25 miles each way is a bit of a push for a 125 as the services need to be done regulary.
Biking isn't as cheap as people think. Once you added tyres (about 6k-7k for a hard profile), servicing, fuel, bike equipment etc, it comes out to a fair bit over the year.
But worth every penny.
If you've got an airgun, get a scooter. Drive belts need to be changed a lot, but its cheaper to run than a bike. You can do the belts yourself if you have an airgun.

Go down to Red Dogs and tell them that.
MV Augusta + Benelli + Ducati importers. Old mans working there for some fun at the moment. I wouldn't call them reliable yet Even if they are worth £15k+

Mate i was in the same boat as you, was ruinning my 172 driving it a 50 mile round trip to the city centre every day,
So i brought a honda xr 125, little trail bike thing. CBT is like £80, insurance is 250 (im 24 fully comp with 9 points on my lisence) tax is £15 a year!
Where as my 172 cost £7 a day in fuel, a full tank (£8) in the bike lasts all week, i hammer through traffic and i also use the bike for a bit of trail riding at the weekend.
My bikes a honda xr 125, o5 plate, i paid £1250 with 2.5k on the clock.
The bikes a 4 stroke, so it only does 70 ish (not that i go that fast in traffic on the way to work) however i didnt buy a 2 stroke cus i cant be dealing with constant top end re-builds.
Iv now done a further 5k on the bike. Its cost me nothing in parts, £6 in service parts and always starts first time
p.s i reconise your car, you a member of the renaultsports club mate?

Exactly Baskey. K3VMU I'm 22.
Athough my RS drinks fuel, because it's constantly at about 8000-10,000 rpm lol.
I've had one seize, but it was cheap enough to repair.
Music while riding - I wouldn't recommend it.
same as baskey though - I want to do full test now.
