I don't think you get "bog standard grey cats" Most "normal" cats are Toms, or moggys.
Russian Blue kittens.
Full grown.
English Blue.
Our Russian Blue was worth about £300-£400 as a kitten. We got him for free as well. Main difference between them is the eye colour (English is orange, russian is blue/green) and the English ones are more plump than the russian.
