Myself and a coupke of mates are going to oz in november for three weeks.

What are the cost of internal flights roughly? Was thinking about landing in Sydney then work round to Melbourne does that sound too much/little to do in 3 weeks?

We are also wanting to do maybe a week of outback kinda trcking camping etc will i be able to pick up a tour from sydney?

Thanks, and very very jealous of you Tiger!

internal flight are dirt cheap, virgin blue or jetstar, went from sydney to brisbane $79 or £35, brisbane to cairns about same, my itinery of 3 weeks was so busy doing something every day and it was no where near long enough to do the east coast. You can pick up trips anywhere and everywhere mate, all the shops do em, hostels do the better rates ive found though, they always throw extras in for free, dont go direct to the tour operators

So should i just get a return flight to sydney and not organise anything from home? Not book tours, activities etc?

Was thinking about spending our first night in http://www.wakeup.com.au/ as i have heard good things about it.

Thanks

I've not worked since October last year, I saved my money up before I came away and sold my Split Screen Veedub.

In total, for a year away, 10 countries and no expense spared, this trips gonna cost me about 8500 pounds.

No regrets.

Wake Up! is a fun hostel, they have a bar downstairs serving cheap beer and ultra cheap food, its a party hostel, they have cool lounges too and its in a good location for city trains. Expect to have lots of sex there, the women are loose.

Depends what your after mate, i was after somewhere quiet to chill out in the evenings if i wanted as sydney is so so busy and huge i was too knackered to party every night, i stopped at the YHA Cental Square, really nice, really clean, converted train coaches for some of the accomodation on the actual side of the old station.

if your after beaches and stuff there are loads of amazing places up the east coast, Byron bay(Nimbin-legalised cannabis!! ), Noosa, Fraser Island, Brisbane, Barrier reef, the list is endless.
This is my favourite place - Noosa
