If you have Factory fit Central locking you'll have deadlocks. Just need to be sure you're turning the key to the horizontal position to activate it, not just flicking it 45 degrees and then back to the verticle position .

Yeah if you've gotta put the key in the door anyway (no Remote central locking) may aswell do the extra turn .

As for the chap who's got his car broken into i have little sympathy TBH - if you leave the face on the headunit, then it'll probably get stolen - Yeah it's shit, but It's somthing i've taken for granted these days .

Also you don't really seemed to have learnt from your experience, posting threads like this (http://corsasport.co.uk/board/viewthread.php?tid=364553), instead of a thread asking which alarm do i need to buy .

Corsas need to be less brakeinable tbh

Bit harsh, no1 deserves their car to be broken into.. well maybe a few people but not on here (cough).

I cant take the headunit off, mines a fixed sony one, so his might be like that!

My head unit is screwed into a cage by the sides, so if they wanted it they would have to rip out the dash

Nah - aftermarket HU's are very rarely coded - how would they make money if it was pointless stealing them

I agree no-one deserves to have their car broken into, but there's no harm in helping your self to avoid the situation is there?

Find out who they are and we'll all come up there and kick the shit outta the chavvy fuckers!
I was worried about mine on Sunday night, 3 chavs standing in the corner and I had to move my sisters car, then put my car in the garage and then move my sisters car back. Took a knife out there with me just incase they decided to try taking the cars.

I'd take a few mates out tonight and see if you can find them to have a word. Never know they might give the stuff back.

Yeah that'd be clever, accusing people he "didnt get a good look of" of robbing his stuff.

Better still, if he did find the people and made them give his stuff back thorough force, his car'd be a sitting duck for them to get revenge

firstly i know I'm asking for it if head unit showing. I've had it in for nearly 4 years and never had problems. Now it has lesson learnt.

Just found out it costing 180quid to get door repaired (bending it back to place) which is better than new door.

As for alarm I don't know if it worth the money. If they want to take stuff they will and they can just disconnect the alarm as soon as in car. It could help scare them a bit but is it worth the 200 quid ??? I dont know what to do bout it?

IF nothing else it's a deterrant. If you've got yourself a haynes manual, a soldering iron, and some insulation tape it's nto difficult to buy one and put it in yourself.

I had one on my old corsa and it cost me £100 and got my old man to fit it (he didn't want me to fuck it up even though we'd done an install and put central locking in my mates nova as complete amatures in about 8 hours - about an hour of which was trying to get the fucking winder handles off the door .

For £100 mine was alaserline - nothing amazing, but had a battery back up siren in it, Ultrasonics, Auto-lock on the doors on starting the car, could bring the interior light on/poop the boot from the fob etc. (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-LASERLINE-291-THATCHAM-CAT-1-Car-alarm-Great-value_W0QQitemZ270126802905QQihZ017QQcategoryZ75329QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem like this one only without the immobiliser). Could also run a relay and make it sound the horn too so it was a loud bastard!

Yes if they want it they'll take it, but at least if it's got an alarm, they're mor elikely to scarper, or simply not bother if they can't smash and grab!

Mine and my parents cars almost got broken into the other night.. It was about 4am in the morning, i was in the spare room about to turn the TV off, looked outside and there were 3 lads, one on a bike, 2 walking, i stood and watched them, they tried my boot, then my parents car, took a screwdriver out of his pocket before i finally opend the window and shouted at them! they soon ran off! Me and my dad went out for a walk and couldn't see anyone, got around the corner, a pug 206 with its boot wide open and a van with it's passenger door open and the lights on...
