i always put copper slip on the face of the hub etc as sitting kicking a wheel for a while to get it off gets annoying.

no matter how many time i look at or how many time people tell me i still cant get my head around torshen bars (excuse the spelling )

just a steel bar thats has elastic tensile. When the cars weight is on it it twists, the spring action is in the elastic twisting

ok you see that swing bit that iv painted black in the pic?

going into the end of that is a rod, whats stops the rod simply spinning is splines inside and notchs on the steel rod, this rod is joined to the other arm on the other side.

when pressure is applied on the swing arm the rod twists then springs back when the pressure is released
