yeah i forgot about the thread, i agree in some ways the site is a bit disappointing due to the members, whether hell admit it or not most of the regular users of the site are cs users or banned cs users

as for being leniant i havent seen any moderation or bannings on there,as their all grown ups on edition38,so no need for moderating

they will have problem members, i guarantee it, no forums is without them, you just probably dont notice it.
also these sites are many years old and have had the chance to gain a massive member base, vagweb is 9 months old and your expecting it to have thousands of members?

im not saying it has to have loads off members to be a good site,my mate has a good mg rover site going he has about a hudred members but its just as good as edition 38,ive always thought quality over quantity matters more.
im on edition38 more than on here and ive never noticed any childish behaviour most have more interest in cars than anything on there.

why the 'very very'?
filtering the word corsasport is just pathetic imo...why the need? the reasoning you gave behind this is not enough IMO...

and how much browsing of vagweb, of its postings, and features have you done to come to the conclusion it has no quality?

Steve, I was among the first to register on VAGweb, but when I saw some of the members registering and also some of the mods (no seriously, my posts being modded by someone 'i won't name' and who knows nothing about moderation), I decided just to back off. And you must agree that most of the members who registered there were from CS and at that time were enjoying CS until they got banned and started slagging the site

the comment was aimed at people saying the site has overmoderation, which it definatly does not, if anything it is undermoderated which is possibly where these problems have been allowed to materialise from

ive looked at it once, because the attitude every one on here has about vagweb, dont bother looking at it.
i never said the quality isnt good on there i was merely saying it doesnt need thousands of members to make it a good site.

this bit of filtering IS over moderation IMO. Temporarily banning members or making them learn how to behave is better that trying to be funny by filtering a word that has nothing to do with some of the members' attitude
Or is it some sort of satifaction for the members to type corsasport and see it shows 'bla bla' and this makes their little brain happy

Just look at this pathetic reply from a mod:
quote: we do not wish to have corsa-sport mentioned on VAGweb, much like we dont want Church School users using vagweb just because its down for the night, want to bug OJC for pics of Rach or want to confirm Joff actually exists.
and worse of it, he isnt a VAG owner and moderator on the site
and worst, he is still coming to Church School and is a Church School user
that was his first and best reply he could have given to a member enquiring about something...That is a MODERATOR...how moderating should be..

that statement isnt correct, we dont want to stop cs being mentioned on there.
however we dont want threads with a bunch of CS members posting just because CS is down, IE
http://www.vagweb.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3559
Tell me what the hell that thread has got to do with anything on there?and how that would look to someone who doesnt know what CS is, and just wants to talk about vags

just ban him...
by not banning him and choosing the option of making fun of a well respected website is unthoughtful
IMO

i agree on that one and taking my above reply and banning him would have been a better option. It is obvious that he never meant to really post except because CS was down, so banning him won't make a valuable member less

Because half of your members would have been unable to get on here and might have wanted somewhere to talk?
TBH, I don't understand the point of this thread on here though, the CS filter on vagweb doesn't stop the world spinning.

it does, because late last year, there was that thread in PL where one of the debates was over moderation...so is it time for this now:
Do As I Say, Don't Do As I Do

But it was about over moderation on here, not on some other site
I could complain about over moderation on PassionFord. Would anyone care?
