How often are you round 2 and 3yr old kids? If its often you'll know how unpredictable they are, and if one had woke up (and no doubt woken the rest up) they could easily of found something dangerous to do inside of 30seconds.
And you'll also find most kids, when at home, have monitors in their bedrooms whilst the parents are downstairs.

I agree with the above.
The inference is that a paedo has taken her....whereas it looks like some barren 50 year old woman could have.
Time will tell....still shite for the parents though

They were 200ft away, that isn't 30secs. They were in a foreign country, not at home and just 'downstairs'. It's basic parenting! You just don't do that abroad!
It was 50 feet, Grandmother was in todays paper slamming all those folk who have said its the parents fault & thay were sitting a 30 seconds away, basically at the other end of a swimming pool. I dont see any problem in that, kids got sleepy early in the evening, off to bed, double lock the door & across to the resturant...........id do the same!!

Thats bullshit!! 200 yards is bullshit, look at the photo of where the resturant sits from their room in the paper, if thats 200yards ive got a 11 inch dong!!

So leaving your kids unattended for '30 mins' at a time, in a foreign country, in a strange building is responsible?
I wouldn't do it.

They've shown the pics in the papers of where the room was and where the tapas bar they were sat in (part of the hotel) was, and its more than 50ft and certainly more than 30secs.
30secs is too far anyway...could you hear them falling onto the hard floor or if they were awake from there? Nope.

All kids are differnet, the parents know best, if & tbh ive seen much much worse parenting go on unmentioned!! I think its sad people ripping the parents..........they must feel shitty enough without a load of folk that dont know them of the kids judging them!!!

Exactly Robin! Why didn't they eat earlier if they were hungry? Or get the food delivered to the room?

I, personally, would NEVER leave my children alone in a random house/flat/room in a wierd country and go for a meal.
IMO, that's irresponsible.
I'm not saying it's not bad for the parents, family and the girl, but it could have been prevented if they'd not gone out.

And? If someone was drink driving and killed Jade would you say that person must be feeling bad enough about it so you, or anyone else, shouldnt say anything to them?!! They deserve it IMO as if they had been responsible parents then a little girl wouldnt be out there, possibly in a very bad situation.

or keep them in a buggy next to them. Thats what we did with my Nephew last year as at that age you can easily sit in somewhere having food and they'll stay asleep once they are down.

yes
So what happens when you go back after the 30 mins and find your son/daughter on the floor, covered in blood after falling out of bed onto their head?
Would you feel that it's responsible parenting then?

I was always left, locked in the room on holiday and NEVER had a baby monitor at home. I'm still here.
And I'm sure it wasn't their first night, so the children would have been used to the room and so on.

You're at home, watching a film, quite loud as the living room is at the other end of the house to the bedroom. Going to hear the thud then? I doubt it.

You don't have a film on quite loud if you have young kids though, for that very reason

Kids get left all the time, outside playing, asleep in another room, you cant wrap them up in cotton wool. The situation they left them in here was secure no doubt about it. Mav said he would leave his kids locked indoors if hes in the garden........that sounds reasonable yes? Someone could just as easily be in his front door & take the kids without his knowing!! This is a terrible thing thats happened but the parents are not to blame, its not like they were out on the lash!! Open your eyes!!

He said he would only do it if his front door was locked Colin.
And the situation they left them in obviously wasn't secure, or the kid wouldn't be missing

So you sit there in silence and read the subtitles? Ok.
