Also, 'Chav' is just a cultural phase, much like 'Hippies' and 'Punks'.

The point is still valid. You've got to be a big headed cunt to think people want to sit and watch you eat your lunch
Cameras are there for our safety. The point of them being "everywhere" is that crimes can happen (believe it or not) anywhere!
When in a car park, do you park you car in front of the cameras or away from them out of sight? I know where mine gets parked.

I can't see an argument against CCTV. I'm well in favour of it.

So a football manager sat on the sideline watching his team is a bad manager?

How is it? It's a deterrant, and if its not a deterrant than its an aid to catch criminals.

Would a Conservative government really be any better though? Labour have spent the last 10 years working through the mistakes Thatcher and Major made IMO.
Blair/Labour have reduced unemployment, increased the minimum wage and got it down to 16 year olds too, put more money in to education, policing (you can argue, but there's more police on the streets now than 10 years ago), even the NHS is more efficient now (it just gets bad press)
The only thing that they've done wrong is fight in Iraq, but we fought in Afghanistan, that worked out, there's been about 4 wars we've been in in the last 10 years, the Iraq one is the only one which has been a disaster.

no but i would rather see the money used on better/more of a police force, I agree CCTV has a place bu i think to much is spent on it rather than actual police on the streets.
Also way too many specials out there

Topshot, is there no police on the streets in Northampton? In the last 6 months or so, we've had police walking round the village every day here

Wages may have gone up but cost of living has also gone up a lot more than wages.
Education is not improved i work for a leading college and year after year the budget is reduced and decent teachers are pushed out in favour of cheap Newly qualified or foreign teachers.
Gun crime - increased since they banned handguns
Assaults - also up
The other month also showed unemloyment going up in british citizens due to influx of cheap labour
Pensions have collapsed and are worth nothing
Retirement age has gone up
Dental practices forced to charge more

Gun crime is hardly the governments fault though, or assaults, that's to do with the lack of respect kids have for other people, anyway, most of the people who are using guns and beating people up would have been raised under the Conservatives
Unemployment may be going up now, but it's still lower than it was under Major.

You obviously don't work in a company with security cameras nor have seen a control room for some of the CCTV cameras.
THE PEOPLE ARE PAID TO WATCH THEM.......
I don't park my car in carparks, and with the VXR, if it gets broken into, it gets broken into. Not many CCTV cameras actually show the faces clearly anyway and most of the time cannot be used.

Northampton must be the exception then, they're proper police here. We had a plastic policeman a couple of years back, he was as good a deterrant as a real one TBH, he could still arrest you, just had no handcuffs or CS spray.

Dont get me wrong conservatives have a lot to prove if they are to make any improvements, but when people say look at thatcher etc well IMO blair is leaving just as many if not more problems.
Also at least Thatcher had the bottle to arm our troops and follow through a war

Nope, thats the problem.
As in south park, its always between a giant douce and a turd.
tbh, im still waiting to see a decent government proposal.
Also, what about the Gulf war? Just as many UK troops died there. Again, all about oil.....
Sorry, but if you worked for the NHS (both my mum and dad do), then you wouldn't think that about the NHS at all. Nor would you if you had had a major injurie. I've spent a lot of time in hospital due to my old mans injuries. I've seen some SICKENING sights.
Thatcher cleared this country of debts, how have labour repaired that? Maggie saved the UK from going deaper into the recession than it already was.

maybe but when im out in town centre is see loads of people i went to school with/wrked with and i asked them if they are police officers and they all seem to be part time specials
And there was also an incident outside McD's/ Bar me where a copper got some bloke, they were fighting and the police officer sprayed CS sray, the wind blew it back in his face and the criminal ran off
I say all officers should carry guns and Tasers

Yes, obviously
Fact is, cameras are a deterrent. End of.
I'd be the same if I had a VXR tho tbh

I have.
The people sure as hell are not paid to watch people having their lunch Their job is to scan around and then follow anyone who looks suspicious, or has a short skirt.
