well it did quite well
did quite a few runs and was mapped up to 8000rpm, without the filters fitted it was making over 185 bhp and 130lb/ft
Torque was dropping off earlier than before and now makes peak torque at 6800 rpm and peak bhp at over 8000 rpm. The dyno operator knows these engines well and we had problems with oil blowing through the breather pipe at over 7800 rpm which Indicates I will need to fit either a decent breather system or an oil recuirculation system. they also had a Nova 1.6 16v on tb's there a few weeks back which was having the same oil problem.
in short, we could have got more power from the setup but to make it safe we would need to fit a decent bottom end and oil system, after some playing with the cams we settled on a calibration which gave us a very usable:
178bhp @7600 rpm
131lb/ft@ 6800 rpm
feels very very good on the road and makes the power without using silly revs
