I love the focus interior but they just don't look special. (exc RS!)

for £4500 you can pick up some nice motors, just depends what insurance budget allows tbh.

It will be a shit one though MatG.

Your best off getting a good astra hatch than a shit coupe. My brothers gf just bought a 1.8 sxi astra, looks nice and is absolutely mint for £4000.

why will it be a shit one? It will be if you buy a shit one I would not spend 4k on a 1.8 astra G, as long as insurance isnt an issue there is no point.

this is at £4695

looks clean done 97k miles but nothign really goes wrong with them other than the turbo, in which case you can fit the VXR turbo for around £500. Loads of members on astra owners club with high millage coupes and no problems at all.

down to personal preferance really, take them all for a couple of test drives.

to answer the question you sent me by u2u:

corsa C 1.8 sri is:

very cheap to insure
almost as quick to 80mph as a 106 gti (await argument with the steves)
feel a lot nicer to drive than the 106/vts on a daily basis
very very solid (if you get a 2004> model )
cheap to run
handle reasonably well
big inside and comfortable
not chavvy at all
nice in standard form
cheap to buy
make the french cars feel very tinny and cheap.

they arent the most thrilling drive in the world and wont be as fun to thrash as a 172 etc ... but seeing as I drive all types of hot hatches on a daily basis I feel I have a good unbiased view on it.
