I had a Vectra for 18 months.

Bought it whilst still a bit drunk for £600 with 113k on the clock, service history was a receipt for 2 tyres in the glove box lol.

Ran it hard (and I mean hard) for 18 months, all it cost me was new front brakes (£40), exhaust (£100) and an MOT. Fooking loved the fact I could park it anywhere, put the bike in the back etc. Sold the Softstars for £250 and replaced with a £50 set of Corsa C rims.

Sold it for £350 with 126k on the clock, never missed a beat. Thats why I love Vaux. so I obviously went a bought a BMW

Think it depends on your circumstances TBH, and what your main car is. I want a new car in the summer, but am considering a run about because i have to drive straight through the middle of birmingham at both rush hours, and that's at the end of my 22 mile drive to work. I could afford an Evo, but there's not a chance i'd "run the gauntlet" to work in it .

gutless is an understatement, my 12v feels more powerful than my parents old astra 1.4 8v

Ive got a Jag S-Type which I use day to day (soon to be replaced by an X-Type diesel sport) and Ive also got a Vectra Diesel (which I let my old dear use) The Vec is great for tip runs and lugging car parts/engines around!!!

Def dont think thats true at all - Your car is practical. Try taking a few clients out to lunch in a TVR Tuscan or doing a tip run in an MK Indy. I think you have to draw the line somewhere. Plus the best thing you can do to keep your 'real' car fast is drive round in a slow, comfy car all week!!

run arounds are great.

The skyline has no seat (1 seat at the mo) and 600lb springs.... not the best to drive daily

The 911 isn't too bad..... its being used daily just now, but we'll need to get something near the end of the summer.

an Elise

My run around's have been varied an numerous.

all 2nd 3rd or 4th cars really.
