why dont you just all stick to the variable speed limits, then you wouldnt need to worry about cameras, and there would be less congestion.
leave the speeding to free'er roads if you must
pow was ranting about him not sticking to them and getting caught, he was ranting because OTHER people don't stick to them.

I can confirm there are no cameras from J15 upwards (the M4 turnoff), it's normally J14 and before where they have the cameras hidden behind the signs on the gantries.
Personally as my car is about as economical on fuel as a Ferrari I just stick to 70 at the most.

The speed cameras on the M25 variable limit zone don't work. I have tested them.

They're on the M42 aswell arent they not?
I think they work though, slow the traffic down and does flow a lot better!

I think they're a good idea... I'd rather be doing a steady 50mph for a while than come to a complete stop in a tailback. It is a bit annoying having to keep an eye on the speedo all the time though!
I have heard the ones on the M42 do work so I don't push my luck... I stick to the limit.
Also, the camera's can't get you if you switch lanes between them, as they're only focused on the individual lanes, ie, if you go through one in the middle lane, and you go through the next one you come to in the outside lane, it wont see you, it will only see you if you stick in the middle lane. But again, this is something I wouldn't push my luck with... not worth risking it.

Erm...im prety sure thats wrong, they time you going in and see how long it takes to pass through a section of road which is a calculated distance and then they han work out you average speed

I've heard that before but I wouldn't risk it. From a technical point of view the thing that logs reg numbers and times how long its taken you to get there may as well do it to one list of cars rather than three. There are three camera systems supplying data to the list but thats unimportant. Thats just the same as one busy camera if the other two lanes are shut. I would be very surprised if the actual speed check is done three times. Its not even a lot of data to check.
