i Went to ampersand when i was in manchester, it was ok, nothing amazing though drinks were expensive, 5 quid a bottle i think something like that, ended up battered though as i was asking the bar man how much the drinks were and they were all a set price, 5 or 6 quid i think but wine was 7.50 for a bottle for something daft up until a certain time, got 2 bottles and ended up feeling it big time.  I went with the girlfriend so ended up drinking most of her bottle, we had been up at deansgate locks previous to this, seemed ok.

The locks is full of students, plenty of OKish bars though with cheap drink.
A little further up Deansagte you've got some of the bigger bars...Walk about, Teasers, etc. stuff you have in most cities.
And then further up Deansgate (by where I live and near to the MEN) youve got the more upper class bars, where the fitter but up themselves women tend to be. Bars like Living Room, Prohibition,e tc are around there.
And there is also up around the Triangle way, also not too far from the MEN where there is TigerTiger and a load of other bars.

not sure if it was the lock i was at then, that was the problem, not knowing where to go, how far stuff was and that, so much better if you have someone who knows their way around.
Keep meaning to get a trip to sankeys sorted out but never happens.
