Not really. The BBC is a public service which is funded for by the license fee not advertising.

For me its an hour of entertainment, not car reviews. I'm guessing they changed the old format for a reason. The BBC seem content with the current format, so why change a good format.

5th Gear is crap, it's followed Top Gears lead but failed. Plus Tim Lovejoy is a Grade A cunt.

I do like their jibes aimed at Top Gear though. Quite ironic considering how SHIT 5th Gear is.

they could do that but then they wouldnt get 8,000,000 viewers.

They'd still get 8,000,000 license fees though.

They'll still be getting 8,000,000 license fees though, not every household is watching, but they still pay...

The BBC wouldn't care if they got 1 viewer or 123219041billion, the income is the same for them.

Nobody likes the license fee, so surely they only way they can make it seem worthwhile is to make programmes that people like to watch? They need viewers to keep the license fee payers happy (as happy as they can be anyway).

Of course they care how many viewers they get

If one of your main programs isn't getting millions of viewers how do you justify charging people a licence fee.

They need viewers just as much as a commercial station.

You have to pay it even if the programming is shite though, which it is, so I can't see them caring TBH.

I know you have to pay it.

The government woudln't let them up the price as much as they wanted this year because they can't justify it.

If nobody watches it and they go to whatever meetings they have with rubbish figures they will be told where to go.

Yes Robbo.

Top Gear is fine as it is, would be shit if they went back to reviewing a 1.8 Vectra LS.
