with components you get 2 13cm speakers, 2 tweeters and 2 crossovers.
Cheaper versions would be called co-axials where you have it all in one basically.

best to spend as much as you can on the HU imo. Then components, then sub. A colleague of mine brought an audi a3, it used to have subs and amps but were taken out, it was left with custom door pods and a top of the range alpine HU and a pair of alpine type R comps in each door, the sound was amazing, so crisp and clear but still bassy!!!! that was running off the HU that i think was 4x60w. Just an example that it is good to get a good HU!!!!!

no, just disconnect and insulate the terminals individually, tuck the cables somewhere as the may come in handy at some point!
