its worth about £1000 under book price, normally a cat c is a bent chassis leg or leg need to be replaced or repaired, as long as its done well then there is no problem at all, i repaired a new fiesta zetec today and the leg needed pulling which took about 5 mins once on the jig so it was spot on and that was a cat c.

I always thought cat d was stolen recovered & cat c was over 40% market value of damage. cat b - scrap to be dismantled - never to go back on the road. & cat a - scrap only to be crushed!!?

dont let it put you off, they have to be fully checked before they can come back on the road, its just the stigma that comes i guess

Crashed cars are never the same as one that hasn't been.

It won't be. (Unless the 4k was cosmetic of course)
Personally I wouldn't buy a cat anything or anything with 80k miles.
Depends whether he is satisfied it's repaired properly and wants it enough.
