Difficult to get a start on a rig adam with no experience & no trade behind me!!
Laughable as the money may be im just going to have to start from the bottom of the ladder....again
To even be in with a chance for a start off shore I need to do £2k's worth of basic training BOSIET offshore survival, medical & greenhand training cert. to even be considered & apparently even then theres slim chance of being taken on!! Im going to try getting something onshore 1st I think.

I know at JEVC you do the instrumentation course and get sposored by an oil firm, can remember who though. You do 18 months at college and 18 months on a rig as your training.

No such thing as too old anymore....Age Discrimination Act 2006, surely you should be aware of that!!

Will not stop them though. The apprenticeship is for under 21's. Having said that you could try for a mature apprenticeship.
