awful repair and parts cost on the flip side.

150, with a few mods they are very quick. And jap so more reliable.

iirc the xsara is 7.4 to 60 and around 140mph top end and they handle really well for there size

what about an bmw e36 like sibbons suggested? 325(196bhp) and 328(198bhp) both models will reach 60 in around 6.6 and they never seem to run out of steam

not bad but insurance will probably still rape you, i can't imagine a xsara / 306 being cheap to insure.
