this is local to me as well. I like it but i dont know what high milage is like on pugs. Ive spoken to him and its due to regular trips to scotland so it should be mainly motorway miles. Whats it worth?

with 4k you could pick up a low mileaged 106 gti which might not of had a life of pain.
I picked my 106 up for 3k and that was with 21k on the clock but the only downside was it didnt have leather interior.
Still that was for 3k and about 10 months ago.

And i learnt in a 12 volt C and like that so i can image the SRI been nice aswell. Might see if i can get myself a test drive in a saxo or 106 as aparently there maybe issues with the pedals.

mine to, plus the leather is shit quality but it's true. most disregard the ones with out leather, but obviously you can pick up bargain low milage ones without leather. i wanna change the seats anyway; as i said the leather is shit and they aren't the nicest seats.

pffft with your fench solutions my g/f has an 03 plate saxo and I have a 04 corsa the paxo is slightly faster but i hate driving it. rattles all the time feels so poorly put together in comparison to the corsa C, Id be looking at an astra G if your looking at something for motorway miles

If you are doing more long distance and motorway journey's go for the 1.8 SRi C. Might not be the fastest but it'll be better built and a more comfortable car for cruising on the motorway. And will still have enough poke!

Anyway stop naming the cars you know i like
I owned a 120,000 mile GTE 16v and it never missed a beat in the 25,000miles i did in it, and I used it EVERY day.

i would definately not buy a 106 gti if motorway driving is high.

well it's not bad if cruising at 70mph but anything over that feels like your pushing it but then again i'm sure thats the same with most revvy 16v 1.6's.

Corsa C SRi muchos nice to drive, if you wat something practical and comfy
However if you want something thats a bit more fun to drive get and puts a smile on your face everytime you drive it get the Saxo vtr/VTS
In all honesty the GSi is well long in the tooth is by todays standards feels really slugish plus will prolly cost more than its worth to insure IMO
