so if i bought say a corsa sport 1.6 16v would it be quicker and more poky than my mates fiesta 1.6 then? be honest too, i know this forum is full of corsa owners that may be biased towards saying the corsa but be honest with me lol

ye thats what i would have thought, the handling on his fiesta was fair god to be honest! what about going through the gears from a stand still and say 0 to 60?

I have argued many a time on here with people who say the 1.6 Sport corsa is faster than the ZetecS...
In a nutshell...its not...there very evenly matched but when a corner approaches the ZetecS wins hands down...

you see, i drive a 1.2 8v so i suppose thats why it felt nippy! i suppose when i change to a 1.6 next month il be in for a treat lol! by the way anyone know any links for sites that show car statistics? cheers

I have beaten a mk5 fiesta zetec s in my corsa and its only an x14xe, beaten a couple vtr's too.

just been reading this post, and yes i would say a zetec s is nippy and all this about x14xe's beating them and vtr's beating them its all lies. yes they may well pull away faster but once the zetec gets to 3rd its off and by by saxo vtr's.
ive had my zetec s for afew months now and all i can say is brilliant. i love it.
althouth they cant be tuned as much as corsa's or saxo's i would still have my zetec just for the looks.
this is mine as it is now, still afew things watinig to be done,
bigger brakes,
buckets and harness(everything has been stripped out)
going gloss black on bumpstrips after xmas to.

Fraid not, i'll agree with this on.
My old 1.4 was literally a tiny amount quicker. Uphill on the M20 I had a play, guy slighly pulled on me (in front) up to about 100, but after this it lost out ever so slightly until i couldn't go any quicker, at this point, couldn't pull away, but then he couldn't gain either...
1.6 would loose out straight line wise to a 1.6.
