well i know with mine on a 4-2-1 decat etc the exhaust was restricting the top end bhp and that would be the next thing to change, but thats a sax, think the exhaust sits slightly diff on a 106 due to the diff shaped bumper

4-2-1 Raceland killed my top end peakyness... ok it gave me some low down torque - but it's shit otherwise.

Thing is I track my car a lot, so mid range is definately needed - but my cams (pt51's) gave me tonnes of mid range anyway! So I now need 4-1 to shove it back up the top end.
will I need a remap if I get 4-1 mani tho?

Pugsport exhausts are meant to give very healthy gains.

On my wife's std cam'd 16v the Raceland made a hell of a difference, with the std manifold it feels really breathless at high rpm, with the Raceland you hit 4-5k rpm and it takes off and pulls hard all the way to the limiter!
Power

Torque

Bang for buck you just cant beat the Raceland manifold... and when you compare it to some more high profile more expensive mild steel manifolds that will hit the ground and rot through after a few winters its just not worth it.
Look at the power curve, does that look like a restrictive manifold?
Even on my cam'd TB'd 16v the Raceland gave more power/torque and a far smother torque curve.

Other mods are Green shrouded air filter and a Magnex exhaust inc silenced decat pipe.
No mapping has been done at all, her car also returns 40+ mpg.

Id live with that if it was white
not to mention it had cams, organic clutch, and rebuilt gearbox, it was a recipe for disaster

Well all I know is I've had experiences of the mani myself, completely losing my peakyness to my engine and I've spoken to many others who have also experienced the same with the raceland.
It's good for low down torque / mid range, but not bril for top end imo.
Makes the car feel very flat and boring to drive.
Obviously all depends how the cams are set up.

As the wife's car is using std cams at std timing figures i dont think thats an issue.
I can only say that you and "the others" must ba a strange bunch.
The std downpipe is very restrictive as i'm sure you know, any tubular manifold fitted in place on the std manifold & downpipe will increase power.
I honestly couldn't believe the difference fitting the manifold made to her car once over 4k rpm.
